Licence to Supply
What is this licence?
Anyone wishing to supply electricity to final customers must hold a Licence to Supply. An Electricity Supply Licence will be valid for 15 years.
How to apply
Applications for an electricity supply licence are made directly to the CRU using the application form.
The form includes a checklist of all documents you should enclose with your completed application form. The CRU will process applications when all the information requested in this form is submitted. It takes about 7 working days for acknowledgement of an application.
Fees
The fee for a Supply Licence application is €254. The fee must be included with your application.
What if my application is rejected?
If the CRU decides to refuse a supply licence application, the CRU's decision letter will explain how to appeal. Any appeal must be lodged with the Minister for Public Enterprise within 28 days of the decision.
