What is this licence?
This is the application for connecting generators to the electricity system at transmission levels.
How to apply
Apply directly to EirGrid for obtaining access to the transmission system, along with transporting electricity to and/or from the generation plant. You can find the application form from the EirGrid’s website under ‘Transmission Connection Agreement’.
The required documentation for an initial demand application includes:
- Cover letter outlining your requirements
- Completed demand connection application form
- Evidence of electronic transfer of initial application fee
- Two signed confidentiality agreements
- Signed grid code acknowledgement declarations
Fees
The total application fee is dependent on the MIC you are applying for. The formula for calculating the application fee and the current fees are set out in the CRU approved Statement of Charges.
